links, etc Minnesota Legislature approves minimum wage for Uber and Lyft drivers - Minnesota Reformer it’s interesting to see how things get finessed here given that the drivers aren’t actually employees. seems to bring things more in line with taxi cost structures and pricing. i don’t like lyft or uber. but i dislike taxi companies even more. imho, the appification of this service has definitely been a move in the right direction....

links, etc Extracting the Essential Simplicity of the Internet | Communications of the ACM a tribute to worse is better engineering and studied underspecification. seriously though, a little bit of retrospective analysis on the beauty in the simplicity of the internet’s “design”. the underspecification and ability to work over any link type really was a master stroke.
